Pancha Kosha & Annamaya Kosha

During my classes over the next 5 weeks we will be looking at the five layers or sheaths of the body known in Sanskrit as the Pancha Kosha.  The Pancha Kosha describe the body as multi-dimensional, similar to the layers of an onion, with the centre as a spiritual dimension.  Each layer or sheath of the body vibrates at a different frequency, the outer layer vibrating at the slowest rate and the most inner layer vibrating at the fastest rate or frequency.

During this week’s lessons we will be working with Annamaya Kosha, the physical sheath and becoming more aware of our bodies.   Occasionally, we move and use the body without feeling how it responds, which can cause injury.  During the lesson you will be moving inside postures, learning to feel your body, sensing it from within, thereby enabling you to protect it from injury.
