Pranamaya Kosha

During the lessons last week we developed a deeper understanding of how asana can positively influence our physical structure.  This week we will be working with the Pranamaya Kosha, the energy sheath.  We will be looking at how we can also adapt asana to influence our systems energetically through the selection of postures and the adaptation of the breath when they are practiced. Any malfunction in this sheath is noticed as afflictions of the breath, sensory issues and nervous problems.  Pranayama can be an effective remedy as it can nourish our vitality and help restore it after illness.

In addition to asana we will be practising pranayama as a  preparation for meditation.
