Yoga has been found to be one of the best stress busters around.  In yoga both the physiological and psychological aspects of stress are counteracted, simultaneously encouraging you to take better care of yourself and adopt different attitudes.  The stretching you achieve in the postures relieves muscle tension.  The inverted and reclining poses slow the heart, relax the blood vessels and calm the mind.  The pranayama breathing exercises slow down the respiration.  As you become more aware and mindful in your yoga practice you will gain a sense of self-control, equanimity and peace.  The meditation and philosophy of yoga can help you realize that most of the things that may upset you are just not worth worrying about.
