Accepting Ones Limitations

September 24, 2011

The theme for this weeks lessons is ‘Accepting Ones Limitations. At times during your Yoga practice you may find yourself saying things like, “I can’t do this posture” or “everyone else is more flexible than me”. In Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, one of Yoga’s ancient texts, the definition of asana is a pose that is both steady and comfortable.  So, try not to worry about what any one thinks of your postures. Accept where you are in the moment, without striving or judging. When a pose is steady and comfortable, there is no forcing. Go where a pose feels good, where the energy flows best. Trust your ability to sense this, this is the Spirit of Yoga.

This term I have added a further class at Wilmslow High School on a Monday evening. This additional class will enable students to swop classes locally between the Wilmslow and Alderley Edge should the need arise more easily.  Classes take place in Wilmslow, Cheshire on a Monday and Thursday and in Alderley Edge on a Wednesday.
